BAFFIN ISLAND - INTERVIEW WITH PAULAOOSIA KILABUK - APRIL 1987

This is definitely one of the more interesting interviews I did during my trip to Frobisher Bay (now Iqaluit) on Baffin Island in the Northwest Territories (now Nunavut) in April 1987. I spoke with Paulaoosia Kilabuk, a native hunter from the region, who explained how hunting was a part of his life and why money was needed for this tradition to continue. He really gave a different perspective to the controversy that was raging concerning the brutality of the harp seal hunt.
