UPDATE: POST OFFICE CLAIMS WINTER ISSUE NONEXISTENT
Posted 8 Feb 2007 22:21:43 UTC

Our frustration with getting the Winter issue to our subscribers continues. Now we're being told that there never was a Winter issue in the first place and that we've concocted the entire story as a way of getting publicity and hence more subscribers. The official we spoke to from the post office tells us this is not the first time we've done something like this. Apparently one of the main purposes of 2600 publishing in the first place was to make the post office look bad by creating unreasonable demands that were impossible to meet, such as delivery of issues to the specific addresses printed on the fronts of envelopes. We also evidently compounded the problem by adding in an expectation that delivery be made within a timeframe.

It was never our intention to put this much pressure on these noble couriers whose only desire is the eventual completion of their appointed rounds. Except if it's raining. Or snowing. Or too dark. Or too hot. Our bad.
