Posted 28 Jul 2001 03:35:51 UTC
After a meeting Friday between the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the US Attorney's office produced no concrete results, activists reiterated their calls for protest in the case of jailed Russian Programmer Dmitry Sklyarov. The EFF has issued a media release supporting the protests.
Protests are already planned for this Monday, July 30th. In San Francisco, demonstrators will meet at the Federal Building where the attorneys responsible for prosecuting Sklyarov work. Protests are also being planned for Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, and many other cities. See freesklyarov.org for more information and
updates.
