The Fifth HOPE by all accounts was a smash success. We're still in the process of recovery which is why it's taken so long to update things here. We want to thank everyone who attended and everyone who helped make this event the best one yet.
There were attendees from all around the world and hacker luminaries from the past, the present, and, no doubt, the future. We're especially grateful to our entire speaker lineup for making the talks and panels so interesting throughout the weekend. We especially want to thank our three keynotes (Kevin Mitnick, Steve Wozniak, and Jello Biafra) for setting the tone of the conference and for really thrilling our audience just by being there.
We had scores of volunteers working on everything from registration to a/v to security to the network. None of this would have been possible without their efforts. We also had a very dedicated group of coordinators who worked diligently on all aspects of the conference for many months. Everyone is ecstatic that it all came together so well.
We also want to thank the Hotel Pennsylvania for once again playing host to our conference and for working with us every step of the way. For many of our attendees, this was their first glimpse of New York City and from what we've been hearing, it was a lot of fun for everyone who stuck around.
The audio and video of the talks are already in the process of being made available. We'll keep you updated as that progresses.
For those of you who would like to add your thoughts, recollections, and pictures to our post HOPE section, simply send us an email at email@example.com with whatever material you wish to send us. Please also let us know if you're aware of any media coverage of The Fifth HOPE that we may have missed as we'd like to have a comprehensive archive.
History was made in New York this past weekend. For those who were there, we hope you'll always remember it. For those who weren't, be sure to be there in two years when we do this again.
