H2K2 VIDEOS NOW AVAILABLE, AUDIO ONLINE
Posted 24 Oct 2003 08:53:27 UTC

At long last, we've finished the massive H2K2 audio/video project. We've got the entire thing logged, all 67 parts.

One thing that you'll find when going through all of this material is that there was such an incredibly wide and diverse program at the H2K2 conference. All of the talks were very well received. And viewing all this footage served as a real inspiration to us to try and do it again, despite all of the time, effort, and expense.

We know, it took well over a year to get this all together. There were a number of reasons for this - lack of staff, lack of equipment, other projects, not enough hours in the day, etc. Add to this a plethora of technical problems and issues - one camera, for instance, recorded sound in a hidden channel that couldn't be found in most other equipment or software! We also had synch issues that needed to be resolved and we had to do some sound improvement on a bunch of the tapes. And twice, after accepting offers from outside volunteers who thought they could do it faster, the tapes disappeared entirely for a very troubling period of time! It all worked out pretty well in the end though. But it's not hard to see why it took so damn long. Yes, it cost us a pretty penny to do this properly and we're all very happy that it's over. But we'd do it again in an instant - if that were possible.

We'll be making an announcement concerning the next HOPE conference in the very near future. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy the audio from the last conference which can be found here. And if you want a VCD copy of any of the panels, you can find all of them on our Internet store.

NOTE: We have all of the video from the panels except for the second hour of the Jello Biafra talk. We do have the audio from that however. We know that there were other videos made from this talk so if you happen to have information on this, just email the webmaster.

Also, the folks at The Open Organization Of Lockpickers have a VCD copy of the lockpicking panel up on their site for anyone interested in downloading it.
