If you're concerned by the tactics of the entertainment industry - who jealously guard their fragments of contrived media-pop with threats and intimidation - you'll be relieved to witness the "Illegal Art Show" which starts Wednesday in New York City.
The exhibit will showcase a variety of entertaining and thought-provoking pieces, in which stolen media icons are the artists' raw materials.
Among the illegal art will be a video by negativland, whose epic presentation at 2600's H2K2 conference was a huge hit. Other works will include the banned "Disney Memorial Orgy" and something called "Food Chain Barbie," as well as a video combining George W. Bush with the Teletubbies.
The opening at CBGB's 313 Gallery starts at 7:00 PM on Wednesday. Admission is free. The show runs through December 6th, before it moves on to Chicago.
