After months of back and forth with Amazon, along with vital changes in their policy towards magazines, we're thrilled to announce that it's now possible to subscribe directly to us on the Kindle.

Previously, we could only offer the magazine on a per issue basis because the terms for anything other than books were not very favorable for publishers. Those terms changed at the beginning of December and, as a result, we are now able to offer the newly released Winter 2010-2011 issue as the first in a yearly subscription. You can now get 2600 sent to your Kindle automatically for less than half the cost of a paper subscription, which comes out to 99 cents a month.

What's really cool about this is that relatively few magazines have taken advantage of this new means of distribution. At the moment, there are only 76 and most of them are rather huge, like Time, Newsweek, The New York Times, etc. So we hope to be able to reach a bunch of new people and become part of something that hopefully will be a significant means of publishing for us and others who follow. As promised when we first started this project, we're keeping our readers informed on how the system operates, what winds up working and what doesn't, and how our various innovative ideas turn out. Also, right now, we're at the very bottom of the list of publications since the order is based on sales, and we've only just started to tell people about this. It sure would be cool to pull ourselves up to the point where we're mixed in with some of the major magazines that are participating in this project. Of course, we're not going to keep ourselves confined to the Kindle. This is but another step in our continuing mission to enter the electronic publishing arena.
