Preparations are well underway for this year's European outdoor hacker festival, Hacking At Random, which will be taking place in The Netherlands August 13-16, 2009. The special discounted rate for people buying tickets early has now been extended to April 14.
The Dutch hacker camps take place every four years. The last one (What The Hack) was held in 2005 and was a great experience overall. Those of you who vowed not to miss the next one should be especially careful not to miss this one.
To get your tickets, visit tickets.har2009.org where you can use a variety of methods to pay, including credit cards. The discounted price for those registering early is 155 euros (approximately 200 U.S. dollars) which gets you admission to all events and a space on the campground. Reduced prices are available for children and adolescents (no charge for infants) and an additional discount can be obtained simply by entering "2600" in the "coupon code" field. Again, the early discount only applies up until April 14. After that, it's expected that the cost will be around 200 euros.
Hacking At Random is still looking for speakers and volunteers. If you wish to submit a talk, visit https://pentabarf.har2009.org/submission/HAR2009 by the end of April. To volunteer, visit https://wiki.har2009.org/page/Participation.
