||WINTER ISSUE OF 2600 RELEASED|
The brand new Winter issue of 2600 is now officially out in all sorts of different places and versions. Hopefully you won't have much trouble finding us in bookstores. You may have more of a challenge finding bookstores in the first place. While we're still getting over the loss of Borders, you should be able to easily find us in every Barnes and Noble and other chains, along with a whole bunch of independent bookstores and newsstands. If you're a subscriber, an issue may have already arrived at your home, office, or school. If you're more of the electronic bent, you will have already received the Winter issue if you have a Kindle subscription. You can also get a Kindle subscription in the U.K. The Kindle Publications subscription is available for Kindles,
Android, and iOS devices. Issues are also available individually in the subscription section. For those of you using Mac and PC devices, individual issues are available in the standalone Kindle Book format. You can also get this version in U.K., France, Spain, Italy, and Germany. We also have an epub version available for the Nook or almost every other
ereader. And we intend to keep adding more, as long as there is a demand.

||REMINDER: HOPE SPEAKER SUBMISSION DEADLINE TODAY|
It's currently the last day of May, which means that it's the last day for potential speakers at this year's HOPE conference to send in their submissions. Because of the huge number of entries this year, we cannot extend this deadline. After midnight (Eastern Daylight Time), we will no longer be accepting speaker submissions. So if you plan on giving a talk or throwing together a panel discussion, we suggest you drop whatever you're doing and put together an email that outlines your proposal, and send that on in to email@example.com. You can find a list of guidelines here.
||25TH ANNIVERSARY OF FIRST 2600 MEETING FRIDAY|
It was Friday, June 5, 1987 when we held the very first 2600 meeting at what was then known as the Citicorp Center in New York City. The meeting was modeled after the weekly "TAP" meetings which had been taking place in New York for many years, organized by the phone phreak newsletter which published from the early 1970s to 1983. We had a number of people turn up and it was decided that the meetings should continue. They eventually would expand into cities all over the world and the first Friday of the month became known as "2600 Meeting Day" amongst hackers, law enforcement agencies, and corporate boards everywhere.

||H2K2 VIDEO ARCHIVE NOW ONLINE|
Ten years ago, we hosted our fourth conference, H2K2, in New York City. Why would a decade old hacker conference be of interest today? For one thing, it's a great time capsule that has never been online before and never available on DVD before now. But mostly, the insights, debates, predictions, and dialogue are pretty amazing and inspirational.
||HELP US ELIMINATE ON-AIR FUNDRAISING IN OCTOBER|
Two things are certain for October. One is that our weekly radio show, "Off The Hook," will, as part of WBAI, be participating in the fall fundraising drive. Two is that we'll get all sorts of emails from people who listen to the program online after it airs and want to show their support to the station and have it added to the total for our show. Until now, this was always a bit difficult.

||AN OPEN LETTER TO OUR LISTENERS FROM THE STAFF OF "OFF THE HOOK"|
When the hurricane hit us, apart from our own immediate survival, our thoughts went out to our listeners and how we could play a part in the recovery process. In times of crisis, radio is incredibly important - a veritable lifeline for those who have lost all other contact with the outside world. On Wednesday, October 31st, there were millions of people in that unfortunate position. All of downtown Manhattan was blacked out, as were massive parts of the surrounding areas. But, luckily, WBAI was still transmitting, albeit from a backup site.
