Construction is now in progress on the addition to and remodeling of the USD Alumni and Foundation Center. As seen here, the front lobby is being completely rebuilt, and new offices are being added on the north side of the building.

Announcing the USD On-Line Community

In celebration of Dakota Days, the USD Alumni Association, in partnership with Harris Publishing, announces the USD On-Line Community. A few functions of the On-Line Community have yet to be placed in service, but this new page will offer permanent e-mail addresses in the USD.EDU domain, as well as free WWW directory space, the ability to look up your classmates on our on-line database, an expanded USD calendar of events, and many other services. Check out the On-Line Community!



Meet the Alumni Association Board


US News and World Report ranks USD as one of the top 228 universities in the United States for the ninth consecutive year. The ranking is in the magazine's "Best Colleges 2000" publication.

The WWW pages listing information on endowed funds managed by the USD Foundation have been updated and revised. The Scholars Page has information on scholarship endowments and other endowed funds. There are two sections -- one listing endowments by the academic area they support, and the other listing the funds in alphabetic order by name.

New pictures have been added to the Photo Gallery from the Alumni Association board meeting and USD Night at the Black Hills Playhouse, both July 31, 1999.

The USD Alumni Association announces a new Internet e-mail listserv that is a new benefit of your paid membership in the USD Alumni Association.

This listserv, called ALUMNI-L, will keep you up to date with what's going on at The University of South Dakota, including news, sports and special announcements. For more information, check out the subscription page for ALUMNI-L.


The USD Foundation has announced that the computer systems it uses for charitable giving records is Y2K compliant. Find out more on our charitable giving Frequently Asked Questions page.

In June, a spruce tree, given by a very special woman who touched the lives of many young people in Vermillion was moved from the grounds of the Alumni and Foundation Center to the main USD campus. See pictures of the move.
